Monday Memoirs

Looking back on last week, here are a few random things I am thankful for!

1. Peanut butter. I love peanut butter and evidently, so does my son. Case in point:

peanut butter sandwich

The most disgusting peanut butter sandwich ever!

Peanut can be a good source of protein if eaten in moderation. This is NOT moderation. He actually made three of these and ate two before I realized what he’d done.

2. Quick Getaways. I love getting away, even if it’s just an overnight trip; especially in a fancy hotel. We went to Vancouver, BC to celebrate a friend’s wedding and got a great deal at the Pan Pacific Hotel. It’s right on the water and we were lucky enough to get a view of Stanley Park and the Lion’s Gate bridge.

Is that an apparition in the photo? Maybe. That big blue thing in the picture is an artist’s rendition of a raindrop, meant to ponder our relationship with the water. There was a lot of water (rain) this weekend. The ‘Pineapple Express’ came through; sadly that is NOT a tropical drink.

3. Weddings! I love being part of wedding festivities. Especially the one we attended this weekend-such a great couple who were meant for one another; truly. You know how every wedding has that guy that slides across the dance floor with his tie wrapped around his head? Yep, I know that guy well. He’s mine, for better or worse 🙂

Here is one of the beautiful chandeliers in the dining room at the wedding venue. It was such a romantic setting, intimate dinner. Great friends, food, love, dancing, wine!

Have a great week everyone!
